Brewing Instructions

  • Hot Tea: Bring filtered cold water to a boil. Use one tea bag or one teaspoon of loose leaf tea for each cup desired. Pour boiling water over tea and steep for 2-3 minutes, according to taste. Strain the tea or remove the bag. Add milk and sugar to taste.
  • Iced Tea: Place one tea bag in a cup. Pour 6-7oz of filtered boiling water over the tea. Cover and let steep for 5 minutes. Add hot tea to a 12oz glass filled with ice, straining the tea or removing the bag.

Recommended brewing temperature 100ºC/212ºF. Minimum brewing temperature: 90ºC/194ºF.

 

Health Notes

Black tea is made from the leaves of a plant called Camellia Sinensis. The tea leaves go through a process known as enzymatic browning. Once fully oxidized the catechins become theaflavins and thearubigins, which may reduce the risk of high cholesterol, heart disease and atherosclerosis.   

 

Packaging

Each tin holds approximately 48 teaspoons or 16 tablespoons, has an airtight lid and comes with brewing instructions on the bottom.
